Scrapbooking?

I have never scrapbooked.  Shortly after my first baby was born, I tried it and decided it was too much work and not enough fun.  But this last Christmas, I made little scrapbooks for my parents and my husband's parents and actually had a good time.  Granted, I probably would have had more fun if there hadn't been a deadline looming, but I still could see the fun to be had.  So, yesterday, I did my first real scrapbook page.  I had a great time and I think it turned out super cute.  I hate to set any kind of precedent, though.  I am not committing to complete scrapbooks of our family.  But, for this one page, at least, I had fun.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my 8 year old!  I can't believe I have an 8 year old.  I'm pretty sure that I'm not old enough for this.  We had lots of fun with pizza, a treasure hunt, and cake and ice cream.  I had a little bit of extra fun myself with the invitations.  We printed them out just on plain paper and then put them in fancy little boxes.

Then for the treasure hunt, I decided to go all out and make super cute treasure boxes for all the girls. 

It was lots of fun and all of the girls had a great time.  It's funny, but with all of the planning, I'm pretty sure that the kids liked the impromptu freeze dancing at the end while we waited for parents to come the best.  Go figure.

Lazy Woman's Dinner

We just got back from a long vacation and making dinners seems overwhelming.  So, I did a super easy, super lazy dinner this week.  I made orange chicken and rice, which sounds like I put in a lot of work, but I didn't.  First, I used my favorite rice cooker.  So easy and perfect sticky rice every time!

Then I dug out the half used bag of chicken nuggets that has been sitting in the back of the freezer for two months and baked them.

Then I stuck them in a frying pan and added some Panda Express orange sauce.

Everyone loved it.  Not bad.

A New Blog

What?  Jacque's blogging?  I know.   I didn't think it would ever happen, either.  Jon does such an awesome job at out family blog so I thought I would do a blog about me.  Well, sort of.  The things that I do, anyways.  I love to cook, bake, crochet, quilt, read, craft, and play with the kids.  Anything I do, I'll put on here.  Well, almost anything.  If it doesn't turn out well, you'll never see it.  That way I can maintain deniability.  Enjoy!~
